Mr. Narinder Singh questioned Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains whether the people running his government are unaware that the martyrdom of the ‘Hind di Chadar’ was rooted in Kashmiri Pandits? He said that committing such a heinous act in the very place for which the people of the land sacrificed their lives is inexcusable. He said that instead of fixing the responsibility, hiding behind excuses like ‘shared program’ is even more condemnable.
He appreciated the decision of the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to summon the accused ministers and officials and termed it as a true reflection of Panthic sentiments. He said that the highest institution of the Panth has proved that those who tamper with the dignity of the Gurus will not be spared.
Our government clearly demands that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann humbly apologize to the Sikh community publicly for this serious mistake. Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains and the concerned officers of the Language Department, who are guilty of this incident, should be immediately dismissed from their posts and a committee should be formed under the supervision of a sitting judge of the High Court to conduct an impartial investigation into the entire matter. The Sikh community will not compromise with the respect of its Gurus at any cost and will not sit idly by until the culprits of this matter are punished
