Chandigarh-In a fiery rebuttal to what he calls a “well-orchestrated smear campaign,” senior Punjab MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has torn into the Aam Aadmi Party leadership and their “paid media accomplices” for spreading lies and twisting facts to malign his image. Sharing today’s Punjab and Haryana High Court order, Khaira said the desperate propaganda machine of the Bhagwant Mann government rushed to publish false, misleading headlines before even glancing at the actual verdict. “This case was about a Disproportionate Assets inquiry, not the NDPS Act, as shamelessly played out by certain media channels in their bid to assassinate my character,” Khaira asserted.
Lashing out at the “frustrated and morally bankrupt” AAP leaders, Khaira accused them of using taxpayer-funded media manipulation to distract from their own failures and corruption. He announced his decision to send contempt and defamation notices to every media house involved in this deliberate disinformation drive. “No amount of lies, intimidation, or dirty tricks will make me bow down. My fight against the corrupt, anti-people misdeeds of the Bhagwant Mann government will continue, no matter the consequences,” Khaira declared.
With a reputation for speaking his mind and refusing to be silenced, Khaira’s stance signals that the political battle lines in Punjab are hardening — and the ruling party’s attempts to tarnish him may have only strengthened his resolve.
