Jagdeep Singh Arrested in Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

Region of Peel, ON – Peel Regional Police have arrested a Brampton man in connection with a conspiracy to commit an indictable offence following an incident in the city. On Saturday, December 27, at approximately 1 a.m., a victim exiting a transit bus near Chinguacousy Road and Drinkwater Road reported being followed by an unknown individual. The suspect allegedly approached the victim and claimed to have a firearm.

Police were contacted immediately, and officers quickly located the suspect nearby. During the interaction, the accused produced an imitation firearm and discarded it into a snowbank. Jagdeep Singh, a 20-year-old resident of Brampton, was arrested at the scene. He faces multiple charges, including:

Authorities reported that at the time of his arrest, Singh was carrying a backpack containing items believed to be intended for criminal activity, including ropes, rolls of tape, gloves, and two knives.Singh was held in custody pending a bail hearing as the investigation continues.
