Khaira Demands Criminal Case After Explosive Corruption Allegations Against AAP MLA Maur

Sukhpal Singh Khaira

Chandigarh / Maur:-Senior Congress leader and MLA, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, today expressed grave concern over the serious allegations of ₹30 lakh corruption levelled by Mr. Karnail Singh, President, Nagar Council Maur, against the Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Maur.

Khaira said that the allegations that money was taken in exchange for making him President of the Nagar Council are shocking, disgraceful, and expose the true face of the AAP government. He stated that these revelations completely trash the much-publicized “zero tolerance against corruption” campaign of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal.

“AAP came to power in Punjab claiming to cleanse politics, but such open accusations of selling public positions prove that corruption has not ended it has only changed hands,” said Khaira.

Khaira demanded that an immediate criminal case be registered against the said AAP MLA under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and that he be arrested without delay to ensure a fair and impartial investigation.

He further demanded that Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann issue a public apology to the people of Punjab for allowing political positions to be allegedly sold for money, calling it a betrayal of the trust of voters.

“The people of Punjab deserve clean governance, not a government where posts in public bodies are allegedly auctioned,” Khaira added.
