Sundeep Sekhon arrest Made in Fatal Fail-to-Remain Collision

Mississauga, ON: In a major breakthrough, officers from the Major Collision Bureau of the Region of Peel Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a tragic fail-to-remain collision that claimed the life of a young woman.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, when a pedestrian was struck by a black SUV while using the crosswalk at the intersection of Bristol Road West and Loonlake Avenue in Mississauga. The driver fled the scene, leaving the severely injured woman without assistance. She was rushed to a trauma centre but tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

After a year-long, detailed investigation, police arrested on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Sundeep Sekhon, 26, of Mississauga, has been charged with:

Failure to Stop After Accident Resulting in Death

Dangerous Operation Causing Death

Sekhon was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Police continue to encourage anyone with additional information or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward as the investigation remains active.
