Urgent Action Demanded on Rotton Park Road Potholes: Preet Kaur Gill MP Meets Officials

Residents of Birmingham’s Rotton Park Road may soon see long-awaited relief from the extensive pothole damage that has plagued the area for months. Preet Kaur Gill, the Member of Parliament, met today with officials from Marcus4NE, Kier Highways, and Birmingham City Council to press for urgent action and accountability regarding the delayed repairs.

During the discussion, Gill raised strong concerns over the deteriorating condition of Rotton Park Road, emphasizing that the current situation has become both a safety hazard and a daily frustration for local motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. She reiterated that residents have been waiting far too long for a clear and confirmed repair schedule, noting that repeated delays have caused understandable anger in the community.

Gill and Marcus stressed that securing a definite repair date must now be treated as an immediate priority. They urged the council and contractors to finalize a timeline without further postponements, warning that public patience has worn thin. Kier Highways and Birmingham City Council officials acknowledged the urgency and agreed to return with a confirmed schedule for the commencement of work.

Speaking after the meeting, Gill assured constituents that transparency will be maintained: updates will be shared as soon as exact repair dates are agreed upon. She reaffirmed her commitment to making sure that essential road maintenance is delivered on time and that residents’ concerns remain at the forefront of local decision-making.
