Several AAP leaders from Rampura Phool join Congress

 CHANDIGARH: Several senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders have joined the Congress, saying that the AAP had completely failed and betrayed the expectations of the Punjabis.These leaders were inducted into the party by the general secretary in charge Bhupesh Baghel and the PCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.Baghel said that joining so many leaders from the ruling party conveyed one simple and clear message that people of Punjab were fed up with the AAP and were looking forward to the Congress for a better and people friendly government which will work for Punjab and Punjabis and not for the outsiders.

Speaking on the occasion, Warring said, the fact that these leaders had left the ruling party and joined the Congress conveys a clear message that while the AAP is on its way out, the Congress is on comeback. “Coming events cast their shadow”, he remarked, while adding, several more AAP leaders were likely to join the Congress in coming days.Prominent among those who joined the Congress included the AAP leader Manjeet Singh Sidhu, who was the AAP candidate from Rampura Phul in 2017 and had polled over 30,000 votes.

Others who joined the party today, included Manjeet Singh,  Goldy Verma (President Rampura Phool City), Nini Bansal (Ex President, Municipal Council Rampura Phul), Suresh Bahia (Ex president, Municipal Council Rampura Phul), Satish Kumar (Municipal Councillor), Neeraj Chaudhary, Neeraj Singla, Ramaninder Singh, Laddi Sandhu and Manpreet Bhullar.
Later in an informal interaction with reporters, Warring said, with every new support, our morale also increases and our resolution for Punjab also gets stronger. “Let’s move forward unitedly with new energy and new vigour for the better and prosperous future of Punjab”, he remarked.
