Arrest of Dig Bhullar by CBI Exposes AAP’s False Claims of Corruption free Governance: Sukhpal Khaira

Senior Congress leader and MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira today strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, calling the CBI’s arrest of Dig Bhullar the biggest corruption scandal directly linked to AAP and a devastating blow to its self-proclaimed image of “Kattar Imandaar” (hardcore honest) politics.

Khaira said that the shocking recoveries of huge amounts of cash, gold, and property from Bhullar expose the complete failure of the Bhagwant Mann-led government and its police department to curb corruption.

He noted that if a single individual like Dig Bhullar could accumulate such enormous ill gotten wealth under AAP’s watch, it reflects the depth and scale of corruption festering within Punjab’s top-heavy police and civil bureaucracy, as well as among AAP’s political circles.

“The arrest of Dig Bhullar by the CBI has torn apart AAP’s false narrative of clean governance. This scandal has completely shattered the party’s claims of being a symbol of integrity,” Khaira said, adding that the silence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on the issue amounts to an admission of guilt and complicity.

Khaira further asserted that the Vigilance Bureau’s failure to detect such a massive scam before the CBI intervention exposes its misuse under AAP’s rule.”Instead of tackling corruption, the Vigilance Bureau has been weaponized to harass and intimidate political opponents of AAP exactly as we, in the Congress, have repeatedly alleged,” he said.

Calling for accountability at the highest levels, Khaira demanded that the AAP government come clean before the people of Punjab, and that an independent judicial inquiry be launched to uncover how such large scale corruption flourished unchecked.

“This episode has unmasked the true face of AAP’s governance one built on deception, hypocrisy, and hollow claims. The people of Punjab were promised transparency and honesty, but have been handed the same corrupt system under a different banner,” Khaira concluded.
