Chandigarh-blistering attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha, claiming that the latter is now “getting a taste of his own medicine” within the party’s internal power structure.
Taking to social media, Khaira alleged that Chadha has come to realize that AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal functions in a “dictatorial” manner. He further accused the party of a pattern of “using and discarding” its leaders, asserting that Chadha’s current situation is not unique but part of a broader trend within AAP.
Khaira backed his claims by citing a list of prominent former AAP leaders who, according to him, were sidelined after serving the party. These include noted figures such as Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, H. S. Phoolka, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, and Gurpreet Ghuggi. He claimed that many more names could be added to what he described as a “long list” of those allegedly marginalized by the party leadership.
In a particularly serious allegation, Khaira accused Chadha of playing a role in what he termed a “false and vindictive” arrest against him in 2023 under the NDPS Act. Khaira claimed that the case was politically motivated and linked it to his earlier questions regarding Chadha’s financial capacity to host a high-profile destination wedding with Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra. He suggested that his arrest was an act of retaliation for raising concerns about alleged financial discrepancies.
Khaira said he felt a sense of vindication watching Chadha face internal challenges, stating that it reflects the same misuse of authority he claims to have suffered. His remarks have added fuel to an already tense political environment in Punjab, where opposition leaders have frequently accused the ruling AAP of केंद्रीकृत decision-making and intolerance toward dissent.
There has been no immediate response from Aam Aadmi Party or Raghav Chadha regarding Khaira’s allegations. However, the controversy is expected to intensify political sparring in the coming days, especially as Punjab remains a key battleground for competing narratives between AAP and opposition parties.
