Brampton’s Iqbal Bhagria Arrested in Extortion-Linked Shootings in Caledon and Brampton

 Region of Peel: Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, working in collaboration with the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police Major Crime Unit, have arrested and charged a Brampton man in connection with two extortion-related shooting incidents that occurred in Caledon and Brampton late last month.

According to police, on October 26, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m., two suspects arrived at a residence near Old School Road and Creditview Road in Caledon in a silver BMW SUV. Surveillance footage captured one suspect pouring an accelerant on the driveway before setting it ablaze. Moments later, both suspects allegedly fired multiple gunshots at the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Shortly after the Caledon incident, investigators allege that the same suspects targeted a business located near Advance Boulevard and Dixie Road in Brampton. Surveillance video shows a suspect firing several rounds from inside the vehicle toward the establishment. Again, no one was injured.

Following an extensive investigation, police arrested Iqbal Bhagria, 25, of Brampton, on November 7. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing and faces several serious charges, including:

  • Intentionally Discharge a Firearm Recklessly (two counts)

  • Arson

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Uttering a Forged Document

Authorities continue to investigate and are actively searching for the second suspect believed to be involved in these violent acts. Police have urged anyone with information to contact the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
