Tragedy Strikes Jaipur Express: Four Dead in Firing Incident; RPF Constable in Custody

Palghar: A Tragic incident of firing aboard the Jaipur-Mumbai passenger train has left four people dead, including three passengers and one Railway Protection Force (RPF) Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI). The train was en route from Jaipur to Mumbai, and the shooting occurred between Vapi and Borivali Meera Road stations. The accused RPF Constable Chetan has been taken into custody by the Government Railway Police (GRP) Mumbai after the incident.

The heart-wrenching incident occurred at approximately 5:23 am today, inside coach number B5 of the Jaipur Express (train number 12956). Both the RPF Jawan and ASI were present in the train, on their way to Mumbai for office-related duties, when the accused jawan suddenly opened fire with his service gun.

The gunfire sent shockwaves through the train, creating an atmosphere of panic among the passengers. The preliminary investigation, led by DCP Sandeep of Western Railway, Mumbai, indicates that the accused constable’s mental condition was not stable.

Following the tragedy, the four deceased bodies were brought to Borivali railway station, where they will undergo post-mortem at the government hospital. The investigation into the matter is currently underway to ascertain the motive behind this devastating incident.

GRP Mumbai jawans promptly arrested the accused Constable Chetan from Mira Road Borivali, taking him into custody for further questioning. The authorities are determined to ensure that justice is served and the full details of the incident are brought to light.
