Harkirat Singh, Amritpal Singh and Hasanpreet Singh,Criminal Investigation Bureau Seizes Firearm

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have seized a firearm and laid multiple charges following a kidnapping investigation that led to the execution of search warrants in Brampton.On November 6, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., police were contacted by a complainant who reported that a close friend had been kidnapped. The suspects allegedly demanded $200,000 from the complainant, threatening to harm the victim if the payment was not made.

Through diligent police work and specialised investigative techniques, officers were able to safely locate the victim, who was found unharmed. One accused was arrested at the scene, where a .45-calibre firearm was recovered.On February 13, 2026, investigators executed two Criminal Code search warrants at residences in Brampton. As a result of the searches, additional evidence related to the offence was seized, including one loaded firearm magazine and one unloaded rifle magazine.

As a result of the investigation, Harkirat Singh, 27, of Brampton, has been charged with kidnapping while using a firearm; knowledge of unauthorised possession of a firearm; occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm; and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm. Amritpal Singh, 27, of Brampton, has been charged with kidnapping while using a firearm; knowledge of unauthorised possession of a firearm; occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm; possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorised.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Hasanpreet Singh, 28, of no fixed address. He is wanted for kidnapping while using a firearm; knowledge of unauthorised possession of a firearm; occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm; and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm. Investigators continue to seek information in relation to this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau or Peel Regional Police.
