India is always clear that it is India first-Gurinder Dhillon IPS

I don’t know what Mr Dullat want to say. India is always clear that it is India first. India has never made any effort to harm Iran. We have a civilisational connection. The past is history. The future lies with a pragmatic approach. The Indian national security setup is not based on the perception of any individual, whether working or retired. There are foolproof methods of input and intelligence gathering, and the factors that lead to our national interest actions are well analysed. India has a highly professional, wise, and seasoned team of stakeholders in national security, well supported by an internal security setup.

A single person’s statement should not influence India’s actions in light of its broader national security requirements. India has a very good and dependable relationship with Israel, Iran and the USA, including Middle Eastern nations. India is in close contact with the concerned nations. The present conflict is not bilateral; it involves multiple nations of the region. Each one is taking their own stand based on their nation’s wider national interests. Best foot forward is when stakeholders in the present conflict begin moving toward diplomacy and dialogue. India has the capacity and reasonably good relations with warring nations to request a halt to hostilities and attacks. Ultimately, the world’s population in 1942-45 was much lower than it is now. Energy and food consumption are much higher than they were in 1945.
Hence, the energy Security and food Security of the world are of utmost importance, and the stakeholders in this conflict very well know it. The world population in the twenty-first century cannot handle chaos and crisis if the conflict escalates into a full-fledged multinational conflict. The world has a nuclear arsenal, but it is also very well networked for Food and Energy security. The fate of the 8 billion population of the world appears to depend upon the wisdom of the #American President and the Prime Minister of #Israel, and a pragmatic approach on the part of #Iran.
#Russia, #China, and #India have a role to play, not in the side of confrontation, but on the side of peace. India, of course, never believes in aggressive military actions. The USA Congress and Senate also deserve to play a role in being good for America and the world. After all, the #USA is the oldest democracy, which has created a model for a rule-based order that relies on the support of democratic institutions. UN, however defunct it appears, can still rise to the occasion as per the structure and conventions it is designed to follow. Let’s see how the future course correction occurs. My personal opinion is that the conflict should be paused so the leaders sucked into it can think in peace.Show less
