New Delhi:BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh strongly criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following the Supreme Court’s warning over his remarks on freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.
“Once again, the Supreme Court had to educate Rahul Gandhi on history. When repeated reprimands bring no shame, it is no longer ‘political stubbornness’ but ‘intellectual bankruptcy’,” said Chugh in a scathing statement.
He recalled that the apex court had earlier compelled Rahul Gandhi to apologise over remarks made against the PM, then sentenced him in a criminal defamation case for remarks on surnames, and now has expressed stern displeasure over his irresponsible comment on decorated freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.
“Rahul Gandhi, who continues to lose elections, is now regularly being schooled in the courtroom too. The Supreme Court has sent a clear message — the misinterpretation of history and insults to freedom fighters will no longer be tolerated.”
Chugh questioned the Congress party’s direction and said, “It’s time the Congress decides whether it wants to run a political party or function as a hub of insults against India’s great freedom fighters.”
“Rahul Gandhi must understand that in the Supreme Court’s dictionary, his name now stands synonymous with those who insult the nation and its selfless heroes. This is not just disgraceful — it reflects the moral and ideological downfall of the Congress party.
