Amritsar Bomb Blast: Brahmpura Strongly Condemns ‘AAP’ Government, Calls It a Complete Failure

Tarn Taran  – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President and former MLA from Khadoor Sahib constituency, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, today expressed profound sorrow and outrage over the bomb blast incident on Majitha Road Bypass in Amritsar, categorizing it as a “complete failure” of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (‘AAP’) government. He asserted that this tragedy is evidence of the re-emergence of the forces that once plagued Punjab’s dark era, at a time when the government appears to be in a “Kumbhkarani slumber”.
In an official press statement, Brahmpura stated, “Today’s broad-daylight bomb blast in Amritsar is not a minor incident, but the ultimate proof that the crores of rupees spent by the AAP government on advertisements are meaningless in the face of real security threats. Since the state’s Home Minister is none other than the Chief Minister, Mr. Bhagwant Mann must take direct responsibility for this failure. On moral grounds, he has no right to hold his office for even a minute longer.”
Taking the AAP government to task, Brahmpura remarked, “Just days ago, I had strongly cautioned the government that cross-border smuggling of weapons and drugs poses a serious national threat, and that this menace warrants an immediate and thorough investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). My warnings, however, fell on deaf ears—and today’s tragic event is a direct consequence of this negligence. The police statement, which suggests the explosive material originated from Pakistan and links Babbar Khalsa, is clear proof of a total collapse of the state’s intelligence machinery.”
Highlighting the worsening security situation in the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency and the entire border belt, Mr. Brahmpura added, “This is not isolated to Amritsar. The RPG attack on a Tarn Taran police station and the relentless droppings of weapons by drones in our fields have become distressingly routine. The people of the border areas are living under a constant cloud of fear and insecurity, while AAP ministers busy themselves with hurling unsubstantiated allegations at the opposition to distract from their own failures.”
Brahmpura urgently appealed for the intervention of the Central Government, demanding that the investigation into this entire incident, as well as the broader network of cross-border smuggling, be immediately entrusted to the NIA. He further stated his intention to soon lead a delegation to meet the Honorable Governor of Punjab to apprise him of the true situation on the ground. “If the government fails to take decisive, concrete action, we will not hesitate to launch a mass movement alongside the people of Punjab,” he warned.
