Speaking on behalf of NAPA, Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal urged the Government of India, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the United Nations Human Rights Council to urgently intervene and ensure that these Indian citizens are given full consular support, fair trial rights, and access to legal representation.
“If these reports are accurate, this is not just a diplomatic crisis—it is a human rights emergency. Every life matters, and the Government of India must act swiftly to protect the lives of its citizens abroad,” said Mr. Chahal.
NAPA appeals to the international community, humanitarian organizations, and diaspora groups to raise their voices in support of these individuals and ensure that due legal process is followed. NAPA also calls upon the Iranian government to refrain from any irreversible actions until a transparent investigation and legal defense is completed.
At a time when global peace and cooperation are most needed, the safety and dignity of every human life must be the highest priority. NAPA reaffirms its commitment to standing up for justice, the rule of law, and the rights of all Indian nationals facing hardship abroad.
