Chandigarh –Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party government, accusing them of criminal negligence, shameless insensitivity, and misplaced priorities at a time when Punjab is reeling under devastation caused by floods.
He expressed anger that while Punjab bleeds, the AAP government has chosen to splurge on a three-day luxury retreat for its party workers at a Radisson Resort under the garb of a so-called ‘Youth Training Program.’ “This is not a training program, this is a party. A standard room in this resort costs nearly ₹18,000 per night for two people. Imagine the bill for three days for so many party workers — it easily runs into crores. And all this while flood victims are struggling to get even a single rupee in relief. This is shamelessness of the highest order,” Jhinjer declared.
Jhinjer further said the AAP government failed the people of Punjab twice — first, by not preparing for the floods and second, by refusing to provide adequate relief afterwards. “Had timely action been taken, had drainage systems been cleaned and repaired, and had the government shown even basic seriousness, Punjab would not have faced such devastation. Today, farmers have lost their entire crops, families have lost their homes, yet Bhagwant Mann’s government is running away from its responsibility of paying compensation,” he added.
He questioned the Chief Minister directly, asking who is funding these extravaganzas when the state claims it has no money for its people. “Is this how the ₹12,000 crore SDRF fund is being used — to pay for AAP’s resort parties? The government has been lying to the people, and this exposes their hypocrisy in the most brazen way possible,” Jhinjer said.
Turning his attack on AAP’s so-called “ideological mentor” Manish Sisodia, who was also present at the retreat, Jhinjer said: “Was Sisodia here to teach his infamous philosophy of ‘Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed’ — the same tricks he used in Delhi to spread corruption and manipulate governance? Punjab doesn’t need lessons in deceit from a tainted leader facing jail for liquor scams. His presence proves that AAP has imported not just hollow slogans but also its corrupt mindset into Punjab.”
Calling the retreat a “party at the cost of Punjab’s pain,” Jhinjer said this episode has laid bare the priorities of Bhagwant Mann and AAP. “At a time when the government should have been preventing floods, and now when it should be standing shoulder to shoulder with the victims, it is instead busy partying in five-star resorts. The shamelessness of this crowd knows no limits,” he declared.
Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer concluded with a strong warning to the government: “The people of Punjab will never forgive this betrayal. Bhagwant Mann and his party must answer why they failed to protect Punjab from floods, why they refuse to compensate farmers, and why they are wasting public money on luxuries while Punjab bleeds.”
