New Delhi: In a significant move to enhance passenger comfort and satisfaction, Indian Railways has launched a special initiative catering to passengers traveling in general coaches. Commencing at 64 prominent stations across the country, including Bilaspur, Raipur, and Gondia, the railway authority is now providing passengers with the option to enjoy a wholesome meal for a nominal sum of Rs 20 or indulge in a combo meal priced at just Rs 50.
This thoughtful facility is available exclusively at the stops of general coaches, ensuring passengers can conveniently access food options while on their journey. To guarantee quality and taste, the meals are sourced from the kitchen unit of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), encompassing both the refreshment room and Jan Aadhaar.
Janata Khana counters have been strategically set up on station platforms, providing seamless access to food and water for passengers using general coaches. The initiative aims to enhance the overall travel experience, making journeys more comfortable and enjoyable for every passenger. By offering affordable and delectable food options through Janata Khana counters, the railway authorities are further strengthening their commitment to providing excellent service to all travelers.
