YAD to undertake Youth Milni programmes across Punjab: Sarabjeet Jhinjer

Chandigarh: Youth Akali Dal (YAD) president Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjher today announced the YAD would undertake Punjab Youth Milni programmes across all assembly constituencies of the State even as he appealed to the youth to join YAD to work for Punjab and Punjabiyat.

Addressing a press conference here, the YAD president said “the purpose of the Youth Milni programme is to listen to the grievances of the youth as well as take suggestions from them on the way forward”.

He said the YAD had taken a decision to undertake a three month intensive programme during which interactive dialogue sessions would be held in all constituencies. “We are committed to listening to the youth and making an action programme which addresses their concerns”.

Mr Sarabjeet Jhinjher said the programme would also stress on tackling the issue of drug menace as well as addressing environmental concerns. “Drug addiction has increased in the last six years with both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failing to curb this menace despite making grandiose announcements. Similarly the environment is under attack but nothing concrete is being done to safeguard it. We will raise awareness on these twin issues”, he added.

Mr Jhinjher said the YAD would also demand answers from the corrupt AAP government for lying and deceiving the youth. “The youth were promised lakhs of government jobs. They were assured employment in all spheres. Instead of addressing this issue, the government is spending crores of rupees through advertisements and tie-ups with paid media that promises made to the youth have been fulfilled.

This is furthest from the truth. The truth is that the youth are being thrashed daily on the roads of Punjab whenever they raise their voice in favour of their demands. Even our sisters are not being spared”. He also asserted that jobs were being given to outsiders only in Punjab at the instance of AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Asserting that the Punjab Youth Milni’s would expose the “badlav” brought in by the AAP government, Mr Jhinjher said “programme will be started from Mohali. After this Milnis will be held at Dera Bassi, Budhlada, Mansa, Guruharshai, Jalalabad, Giddarbaha, Lehragaga, Dirba, Jalandhar West, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Aadampur, Kartarpur, Jalandhar Cant, Amargarh, Malerkotla, Baghapurana, Nihal Singh Wala, Amritsar South & West, Ludhiana South, West & East.
