Talking to the media after visiting the area Jai Inder Kaur informed, “I had heard reports from our workers working on ground that many villages and fields of Sanaur are still submerged in water and the situation had become more worrisome due to the overnight rains. First I visited the Devigarh road which has completely collapsed and heard the grievances of the people living nearby. I have contacted the administration and have urged them to expedite the relief work.”

She further said, “I have also visited the village Rorh Jagir and it’s very saddening to see the condition of the houses and the fields of people. Stagnant water is still standing in the houses, many of them have cracked due to the floods and their all belongings have been destroyed. This is the story of hundreds of villages of Patiala district and these people need special help from the government.”

Jai Inder Kaur further demanded, “Where I request both the central and state government to provide compensation to our farmers for the damage caused to their crops, I also urge them to give special compensation to the families belonging to the economically weaker sections whose houses and belongings have been completely destroyed.”
