IAS Sandeep Kumar assumes charge as Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran: Mr. Sandeep Kumar IAS has assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner of District Tarn Taran.

Prior to this, he was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Ludhiana.

An IAS officer of 2015 batch, Mr. Sandeep Kumar in 2019 served as Additional Deputy Commissioner General in District Tarn Taran.

On arrival at District Government Complex Tarn Taran, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mrs. Amaninder Kaur, S.D.M. Taran Taran Mr. Rajnish Arora, and S.D.M. Khadur Sahib Mr. Deepak Bhatia, other officials and employees welcomed him. He also took guard of honour from the Punjab Police contingent. After this, Mr. Sandeep Kumar went to Mr. Darbar Sahib to pay obeisance and thank God.

Immediately after assuming his post, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sandeep Kumar arrived to see the works being carried out with the support of the Sangat to bridge the gap in the river Sutlej near Ghadunm village. Appreciating the ongoing work, he thanked all the Sangat. He said that with the support of the Sangat, the dam will be completed in a day or two.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said that about 20 villages adjacent to the river Sutlej have been affected due to the collapse of this dam. He said that the district administration, Taran Taran, has made necessary arrangements for the convenience of the flood-affected people of the district. He said that for the flood victims, seven Relief centers have been built. Necessary facilities are being provided in the relief centers built by the district administration Tarn Taran for the flood-affected people.

He said that the teams of the animal husbandry department are continuously working in the field for the treatment of animal diseases and the livestock keepers are being provided fodder and feed for the animals.

The DC said that the district administration, with the support of religious and social organizations, is continuing the relief work in various villages affected by water including the villages adjacent to the river Sutlej. People are being helped with the benefits of mosquito nets, drinking water, etc. and these organizations are fully supporting the district administration.
