NAPA Demands Immediate Release of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar After Nearly 30 Years in Jail”

Chandigarh-The continued incarceration of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar stands as a grave reminder of the deep flaws and inconsistencies within the justice system. Having spent nearly three decades behind bars, Prof. Bhullar’s case raises serious concerns about fairness, due process, and equal application of the law.

It is deeply troubling that even when the presiding judge in his case found him innocent, the state chose not to uphold the principle of justice by granting him freedom. This prolonged detention reflects not just the suffering of one individual, but a broader pattern that has left many questioning whether justice is being administered without bias.

Prof. Bhullar’s case is no longer just about a prisoner it has become symbolic of a system that appears to shift its standards when dealing with members of the Sikh community. Such actions undermine public trust in democratic institutions and the rule of law.

On behalf of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), I strongly demand the immediate release of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar. Justice delayed for decades is justice denied, and it is imperative that corrective action be taken without further delay.

Governments must rise above political considerations and demonstrate a commitment to fairness, human rights, and the rule of law. The continued imprisonment of Prof. Bhullar is a stain on these principles and must be addressed urgently.
