The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) expresses deep concern and strong condemnation over the ongoing trend in Punjab, where the Chief Minister is allegedly providing profitable business opportunities, key positions, and government-backed benefits to individuals who have not contribute whatsoever to the state, its welfare, or its development.
Instead of uplifting deserving youth, professionals, and those who have dedicated decades to Punjab’s progress, the state government continues to reward outsiders and politically-favored individuals. This deeply demoralises the hardworking people of Punjab, especially NRIs who invest heavily in their homeland.
Examples of Such Misguided Priorities Include:
Handing over major business contracts and lucrative tenders to individuals with no track record of public service or credibility.
Appointing politically connected individuals to influential boards and committees while ignoring qualified experts.
Offering government land, financial benefits, or subsidies to those who have not contributed even a single day to Punjab’s social, cultural, or economic growth.
NAPA firmly believes that governance must prioritise those who contribute to Punjab—not those who merely enjoy political proximity. We demand full transparency, accountability, and a public disclosure of all contracts, appointments, and benefits granted in the last two years.
NAPA urges the Chief Minister to correct this injustice and adopt a merit-based, contribution-based approach to ensure the future of Punjab is safeguarded.
