NAPA urge to register FIR Against Manish Sisodia for Inciting Violence and Corruption

Chandigarh / Fremont: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), under the leadership of Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal, has submitted a formal complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab against Mr. Manish Sisodia, AAP Punjab In-charge. The complaint highlights grave concerns over Mr. Sisodia’s recent provocative speech delivered on the eve of Independence Day, where he openly declared that AAP would adopt tactics of “Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed, Sach, Jhooth, Sawaal, Jawaab, Ladai, Jhagda” to secure victory in the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2027.

According to NAPA, such utterances are not only highly irresponsible but also incite violence, corruption, and communal discord, thereby undermining democratic values and the constitutional framework of India. The statement amounts to a clear admission of intent to bribe, intimidate, mislead voters, and provoke enmity among communities—acts that fall under corrupt practices defined in the Representation of the People Act, 1951, as well as provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Mr. Satnam Singh Chahal emphasized that Punjab has already endured a painful history of militancy, and the sacrifices of great leaders such as Sant Harchand Singh Longowal and S. Parkash Singh Badal helped restore peace and communal harmony in the State. “It is deeply worrying that reckless political leaders are once again attempting to push Punjab into instability and division for their own political gains,” he said.

The complaint calls for the registration of an FIR against Mr. Sisodia, cancellation of his bail in the ongoing corruption case, derecognition of the Aam Aadmi Party, and disqualification of Mr. Sisodia from contesting future elections. It further demands a ban on his participation in public rallies and political campaigns.

NAPA has appealed to the Election Commission of India to take swift and decisive action to protect democracy and ensure free and fair elections in Punjab. “At this critical juncture, Punjab needs peace, stability, and democratic integrity—not corruption, intimidation, or communal polarization,” added Chahal.
