Preet K Gill MP Welcomes 10,600 New UK Jobs from India Trade Mission

London(Punjaboutlook Bureau)In a major boost to the UK economy, Preet K Gill MP has welcomed the success of the Prime Minister’s two-day trade mission to Mumbai, India, which has resulted in the creation of 10,600 new UK jobs through multi-billion-pound investment deals.

The visit, joined by a high-profile delegation of 125 CEOs, university Vice-Chancellors, and industry leaders, has strengthened the economic bridge between the UK and India. During the trip, £1.3 billion of new Indian investment was confirmed, generating 6,900 new jobs across key sectors such as engineering, technology, and manufacturing, spanning every region of the United Kingdom.

A highlight of the mission was the announcement by Yash Raj Films, one of India’s biggest film studios, which committed to producing three new Bollywood blockbusters in the UK starting next year. This landmark project is expected to create over 3,000 new jobs and further establish the UK as a global hub for film production and creative industries.

In addition, a £350 million defence deal will see the production of UK-manufactured missiles for the Indian Army, creating over 700 skilled jobs in Northern Ireland and enhancing bilateral defence cooperation.

Preet K Gill MP hailed the mission as a “significant step forward in strengthening the UK-India partnership,” noting that it reflects growing confidence in Britain’s innovation, talent, and global competitiveness.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for British businesses in India, following the UK-India trade agreement signed in July, which aims to reduce tariffs, speed up trade procedures, and make exports more affordable and efficient.

This new wave of collaboration not only reinforces the UK’s position as a preferred partner for Indian investors but also marks a promising chapter for shared growth and global partnership between the two nations.
