Amritsar- Punjab BJP Spokesperson Professor Sarchand Singh Khayla said that as a Sikh, my heart is very saddened by the current sectarian situation, because the Badal Dal is disregarding the sectarian sentiments due to arrogance and violating the traditions, customs and dignity of the sect. The Badal Dal has arbitrarily removed the Jathedars from the thrones and to implement the new decisions taken without the Panthic consensus, new Jathedars are being installed secretly in the dark of night without following the Panthic traditions, thereby insulting the Panthic positions, due to which there is a huge protest not only in the villages of Punjab but also among the Sikhs all over the world.Prof Sarchand Singh said that Shri Akal Takht Sahib has declared the present Akali leadership incompetent. In times of such national tragedy, Damdami Taksal should play the role of leading the Sikh community in collaboration with Dal Panth and Sikh sects and organizations as per historical tradition. He said that history is a witness that whenever there is crisis in the community, Damdami Taksal has provided leadership and direction. He said that Takhtons ke Jathedar and Singh Sahiban are the posts of the community, these posts should be respected and traditions and customs should be maintained at all costs.
Taking a dig at Badal Dal, he said that those who use the Shiromani Committee and its officers and employees to fulfill their political desires, should understand that except for a few of your colleagues, most of the Shiromani Committee is morally honest and not alienated from Sikh principles and religion. The wave of Sikhism is running in their hearts and they will soon rise up against you.
He said that their heads were taken off during the selection of the five lovers by Dasmesh Pita on the throne of Shri Kesgarh Sahib. Countless Sikhs sacrificed their heads around Shri Akal Takht Sahib built by Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He told Badal Dal leaders that whoever challenged Takht Sahib, be it Abdali or Mrs. Indira Gandhi, was eliminated. He said, “What more proof is needed of the existence of martyrs around Shri Akal Takht Sahib?” Where S. Prakash Singh Badal, who at the time of Makkad took the Fakhr-e-Qaum Panth Ratna with all his strength, but today the Jathedars appointed by him have withdrawn this honor from the same Takht Sahib in front of his son. Can there be any punishment greater than this?
He said that the sect which gave Badal Dal power and the leadership of the Akali Dal declared him unfit for leadership due to his crimes and asked him to step down, but he turned away from the sect in arrogance and pride and stuck to the chair. He said that how can the Badal group who insult Takht Sahibs and Panthak positions be forgiven by Guru Panth and martyrs?
