Serving the Nation Deserves Our Gratitude and Respect, Says Brahmpura

Tarn Taran / Delhi-  Shiromani Akali Dal Vice President and former MLA from Khadoor Sahib constituency, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, has issued a forceful and unequivocal condemnation of the malicious online trolling targeting India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, with particular reference to the harassment of his daughter on social media platforms.
In his statement, Brahmpura stressed that at a time of heightened national sensitivity, as the country faces tense circumstances reminiscent of conflict between India and Pakistan, senior officials like Mr. Misri are fulfilling their responsibilities with utmost diligence. “As a responsible functionary of the Government of India, Mr. Misri has done nothing more than communicate decisions taken in the national interest. To personally attack a government officer merely for carrying out his duties is not only wrong but profoundly shameful,” he stated.
Brahmpura further expressed deep concern that online attacks had crossed all limits, not only vilifying the official but also targeting his family—especially his daughter—by publishing sensitive personal information such as phone numbers. “This is not only illegal but a direct attack on their privacy and safety. Such vile trolling, reflective of a depraved mindset, has absolutely no place in civil society,” he asserted.
Appealing to the Union Government, Brahmpura called for immediate and strong action on this grave matter. He argued that all anti-social elements responsible for such heinous acts must be identified and face strict legal consequences, ensuring that no one dares, in the future, to harass or defame public servants and their families in this manner.
Emphasizing the primacy of national unity, integrity, and security, Brahmpura appealed for all political and personal differences to be set aside in favor of solidarity and national interest. “India comes first, above all else. Upholding the respect of every official and their families—be it in the army or the administration—is our collective national responsibility, as these individuals are charged with implementing the government’s policies for the nation’s progress,” he added.
Brahmpura reiterated his condemnation of these events and called on everyone to exercise restraint and maintain mutual respect in public discourse.
