Brahmpura Meets Sukhbir Badal, Highlights Khadoor Sahib’s Struggles and AAP Government’s Failings

Tarn Taran -Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President and Khadoor Sahib constituency in-charge, former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, today held a crucial meeting with Party President Sukhbir Singh Badal at his Chandigarh residence. He was joined by his son, youth leader Kanwardeep Singh Brahmpura. During the meeting, Brahmpura presented a comprehensive overview of the pressing issues affecting the Khadoor Sahib assembly constituency, ongoing party activities, and specifically the alleged poor performance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
Brahmpura shared that he had drawn the Party President’s attention to the alarming collapse of law and order under the AAP government, describing a “jungle raj” atmosphere prevailing in Khadoor Sahib. He also voiced serious concerns regarding the current government’s alleged authoritarian approach and anti-people policies. Citing the recent seizure of a massive Rs 425 crore heroin consignment from the Khadoor Sahib border area, Brahmpura labeled it a glaring failure of the state government. Sukhbir Singh Badal concurred, noting that the incident exposes the AAP government’s unsubstantiated claims of curbing drug abuse and highlights its lack of seriousness towards border area security.
Detailing his continued advocacy for the people of Khadoor Sahib, Brahmpura highlighted his initiatives to bolster the party’s presence. He emphasized that basic amenities such as healthcare, education, clean water, and roads in Khadoor Sahib’s villages are in a deplorable state, and the current administration has ignored these critical needs. Sukhbir Singh Badal praised Brahmpura’s relentless efforts, assured him of the party’s full backing, and applauded his commitment to the constituency.
Sukhbir Singh Badal further asserted that any excesses committed by the AAP government would not be tolerated. He warned that officials harassing dedicated SAD workers on behalf of the current government would be held accountable when the time comes.
On this occasion, young leader Kanwardeep Singh Brahmpura, grandson of the late SAD patron Jathedar Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, also presented to the Party President the challenges faced by the younger generation, particularly unemployment and the increasing menace of drugs, urging concrete measures to address these issues.
Brahmpura expressed that the people of Punjab—especially residents of Khadoor Sahib—fondly remember the era of development and provision of basic facilities under the leadership of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal during the SAD government’s tenure. He emphasized that the SAD government delivered record-breaking progress across all sectors, while the current government has restricted itself to superficial publicity.
In conclusion, Brahmpura assured Party President Sukhbir Singh Badal that maximum participation of workers from the Khadoor Sahib assembly constituency would be ensured in the upcoming Ludhiana by-election to guarantee the party candidate’s victory. He expressed confidence that the Shiromani Akali Dal would emerge stronger as the voice of the people by 2027.
