When asked about the appointment of Jathedars of Takht Sahibs, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa said that he had a long discussion with SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami in this regard. It may take some time to prepare rules and regulations for appointment or retirement of Singh Sahibs, procedures cannot be prepared in haste and only with the opinion of SGPC. With the collective opinion of Sikhs, Sikh scholars, saints, Damdami Mints, Nihang Singh organizations, Sikh panths and struggling Sikh organizations all over the world, this issue can be resolved and this work can be completed. We have already demanded to make rules for Jathedars. If the procedure is available, then issues will not arise. That’s why the president Dhami is busy.
When asked about the ongoing discussion about appointing Bandi Singh Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana as Jathedar, the head of Damdami Taksal said that Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana has made a huge sacrifice. He is highly respected by the entire cult. If the Panth appoints him as Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, then there can be no greater happiness.
