“NAPA Seeks Ouster of Punjab Irrigation Secretary Over Flood Mismanagement

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) expresses deep concern over the devastating floods that have caused widespread destruction across Punjab. Thousands of families have been displaced, farmlands ruined, and public infrastructure severely damaged, leaving citizens in distress and despair.

NAPA holds Mr. Krishan Kumar, IAS and Secretary of the Irrigation Department, directly responsible for this grave mismanagement. As the senior-most officer entrusted with the crucial responsibility of water regulation, flood prevention, and irrigation management, Mr. Kumar has failed to fulfill his duty of safeguarding Punjab’s people and resources. This dereliction of responsibility has contributed significantly to the current flood crisis.

We firmly believe that such lapses cannot be ignored or overlooked. Therefore, NAPA demands the immediate termination of Mr. Krishan Kumar, IAS, from his position as Secretary of Irrigation. Furthermore, a high-level, transparent, and impartial investigation must be initiated without delay. Only a thorough inquiry will uncover the truth and hold accountable those whose negligence has compounded the suffering of Punjab’s citizens.

The people of Punjab deserve justice, and accountability must be ensured at every level. NAPA will continue to raise its voice until the truth is brought before the public and necessary action is taken against those responsible for this catastrophe.
