
The head of the mint, Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa ji clearly said “Farmers are the backbone of Punjab. It is our religious and national duty to rehabilitate the flood-affected and devastated farmers. The mint will ensure that the farmers do not lose heart.”
Agu Bhai Sahib Singh of Taksal said that under this decision, the affected fields will be made cultivable again and the farmers will be provided with seeds, fertilizers, tools and other necessary assistance. For this, the inspection of the affected areas has been started by the mint teams in Taran Taran, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts. Wherever farming or family needs are felt, mint will play a big role with the help of Sangaton.
Today, a large number of religious and social leaders attended the relief camp set up by the Mint at village Bajwa in Ajnala. On this occasion Shri Darbar Sahib’s Granthi Singh Sahib Gyani Parvinder Pal Singh Buttar, MP Gurjit Singh Aujla, Sikh Student Federation President Amarbir Singh Dhot, SGPC Many leaders including member Jodh Singh Samra attended. The youth of the Muslim brotherhood also participated in large numbers and promised to give full support to the mint.
Emphasizing the importance of service, Singh Sahib Gnani Parvinder Pal Singh Buttar said – “There is no greater auspicious act in the world than selfless service to humanity. A good and successful life cannot be imagined without service.”
He encouraged the teams running the relief camps and appealed to the Punjabi brotherhood to extend maximum cooperation.
MP Gurjit Singh Aujla said that farmers have suffered the most from the floods. The provision of food, fodder and medical facilities for the people affected by the mint is commendable. The day and night services in the relief camp under the guidance of great men are a symbol of the selfless spirit of Damdami Taksal towards humanity.
Federation President Amarbir Singh Dhot assured that the youth of the Federation will continue to serve shoulder to shoulder with Taksal.
Agu Bhai Sahib Singh of Taksal said that this camp, which is being run under the leadership of Sant Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, will continue until normal conditions are restored. Medicines and free medical facilities (including female doctors), ration, bedding and other necessities, 24-hour anchorage, fodder for animals, distribution of materials at ground level are being provided to the flood affected people in the camp.
The final appeal, Taksal’s appeal was finally made that – “The backbone of Punjab is the farmers, so the entire Sikh Sangat and Punjabi brotherhood should come forward and help the flood-affected farmers. This is the true service of humanity.”
