On September 16th, Gurvinder Singh, a truck driver, was sentenced to prison in McAllen, Texas for the theft of 900 televisions, a crime that took place in September 2024.
According to reports from Valley Central, two semi-trucks loaded with TVs departed from a warehouse in Summerville, South Carolina, destined for Cullman, Alabama, and Douglas, Georgia. Although the big-box stores at each destination received proof-of-delivery documents for the shipments, the televisions never actually arrived.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation traced the missing merchandise back to Singh, leading to his prosecution and eventual sentencing. The case highlights the ongoing challenges retailers face in securing high-value shipments across state lines.
