Chandigarh: Citing universal human rights, Delhi Akali chief Paramjit Singh Sarna urged the British High Commission in India to issue visas to the family of the late Avtar Singh Khanda in order for his dear ones to attend the activist’s service in the UK.
“We saw disturbing reports about Khanda’s family being denied UK visas. The British High Commission should honour the international covenant on human rights and let his family attend the rituals and service in the UK, where he passed away recently,” Sarna said.
The Akali leader sought the intervention of the Ministry of External Affairs in the regard.
