Chandigarh: In a significant move towards strengthening grassroots democracy, the Punjab government has announced the schedule for the elections of Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats. Citizens of the state will head to the polls from 1st November to 15th November 2023 to elect representatives for 39 councils and Nagar Panchayats. Additionally, the green signal has been given for by-elections in 27 wards, as ordered by the Governor of Punjab. The State Election Commission will now take further action to oversee the electoral process.
