Chandigarh: In response to the devastating floods that have impacted parts of Punjab, a specialized team representing the central government is scheduled to embark on a comprehensive assessment of the affected areas today. This proactive initiative seeks to gauge the current situation on the ground and extend crucial support to the affected communities.
Arriving in Chandigarh, a team comprising seven officials from diverse departments of the central administration has assembled to address the urgent need for assistance in the wake of the floods. The team’s itinerary includes visits to multiple districts, specifically Patiala, Mohali, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar, and Ropar, as outlined in their pre-arranged schedule.
Punjab has been grappling with the aftermath of heavy rainfall that resulted in flash floods, causing widespread destruction and disruption. In times of such adversity, the central government’s swift response underscores its commitment to alleviating the distress faced by the affected regions.
