Chandigarh: In response to the devastating floods that have impacted parts of Punjab, a specialized team representing the central government is scheduled to embark on a comprehensive assessment of the affected areas today. This proactive initiative seeks to gauge the current situation on the ground and extend crucial support to the affected communities.

Arriving in Chandigarh, a team comprising seven officials from diverse departments of the central administration has assembled to address the urgent need for assistance in the wake of the floods. The team’s itinerary includes visits to multiple districts, specifically Patiala, Mohali, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar, and Ropar, as outlined in their pre-arranged schedule.

With the primary objective of taking stock of the flood’s impact, the central team aims to gather firsthand information on the ground. The officials will assess the extent of the damage caused by the flooding, evaluate the displacement of families, and determine the immediate requirements of the affected populace.
