YAD president visited Dupalpur grain market of Nawanshahr at night

Nawanshahr-Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjit Singh Jhinjar today criticized the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government’s order to close more than 300 mandis in the middle of the buying season.Jhinjhar made this revelation last evening while visiting the grain market of village Dupalpur, district Nawanshahr.

Talking to reporters after his visit, the Youth Akali Dal President said, “It is very sad to see the plight of our farmers who are suffering in the markets for the last one month that the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Bhagwant Mann has ordered the closure of more than 300 mandis, even though the procurement of paddy is still going on and grain markets are full of paddy, which is not being procured on time, how does it make any sense, e.g. Dupalpur market, the government has ordered to close this market, even though the paddy trolleys are still coming. There are already heaps of crops in the market, which could not be purchased, so now the farmers have their own Take the crop from this market and take it to another market.”

He added, “Worse than this, for the first time our farmers are not even being given the proper amount, a deduction of more than Rs. 300 is being imposed on them, they are being harassed under one pretext or the other. Being harassed and underpaid. This is the most important time for our grain supplier and we also do not want to protest in the markets, but due to the failure of the administration we are forced to protest. The Bhagwant Maan government has failed to manage on time.”

Jhinjar added, “The slow pace of lifting has already created a lot of problems for us, usually by this time in November our farmers are already free from the paddy procurement process and the rabi crops are ready. They have started the sowing process. Never in the last 70 years have farmers faced so much trouble in the markets.”

He further appealed to the youth of Punjab and said, “I request my youth to stand up and speak now, visit every market which has been ordered to be closed by this government and show the truth to the people of Punjab that The markets are full of paddy and the government is turning a blind eye to it.”

The Youth Akali Dal president added, “This issue is not only affecting the farmers, the Arathis or the labourers, but it is affecting the whole of Punjab because the farmers are not getting money and the entire economy is rotting. had to celebrate Black Diwali. Due to which the arrivals in the markets are also less, due to which the traders also suffer.”
