Jalandhar (Paramjit Sidhu) Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, a prominent educational institution of North India, retired after rendering his distinguished services.A formal farewell function was held in the college premises under the chairmanship of S. Prabhpal Singh Pannu – Member Managing Committee.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh was honored by S. Prabhpal Singh Pannu and Principal Dr. Suman Chopra with a bouquet and a badge of honor.
On this occasion, Dr. Rachpal Singh Sandhu, Staff Secretary, gave a bird’s eye view of the life and academic journey of Dr. Jaspal Singh. He expressed his views on the hard work, dedication and commitment of Dr. Jaspal Singh to give a distinctive identity to the college in the fields of academics, sports, literary research and cultural activities.
Principal Dr. Suman Chopra shared her thoughts and experiences with Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh as a colleague and as a Principal and appreciated the work done by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh to take the college to greater heights with his far-sighted thinking and talent. She wished Dr. Jaspal Singh a healthy life and family happiness after retirement.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Jaspal Singh Khel started his service as a professor and head of the Physical Education Department at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, an institution that has given hundreds of international level players to the country in the world, in 1998. During his 22 years of service, the college won the Guru Nanak Dev University General Championship Trophy 17 times, which is a record in itself.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh spoke about his life experiences and shared the bittersweet experiences of the services rendered to the field of education.
On this occasion, he specially thanked the Governing Council, College Staff and Students for their cooperation in elevating the College. He wished that our teachers achieve more in the field of academics and research. He said that the College has made its due contribution to the flourishing of arts and sports. On this occasion, the College presented a letter of appreciation to Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh. On this occasion, the Heads of all the departments and staff members were also present.
