Jalandhar-International Women’s Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at Guru Teg Bahadur Public School Hazara Hazara. On this occasion, lectures were given by the NCC students of the school in Punjabi, English and Hindi on the importance of women and 2 separate poems were read. On this occasion, School Secretary S. Surjit Singh Cheema, Trustee Jaswinder Singh, Director Mrs. Nisha Mariya Ji and Principal Mrs. Amital Kaur were present. Director Mrs. Nisha Mariya while sharing her views said that International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8. The main purpose of celebrating it is to make women aware of their rights and the right to equality. This year, the theme of Women’s Day has been kept as I am Generation Equality: Realising Women’s Rights. International Women’s Day is celebrated with great pomp and show in India and abroad as well. First, Women’s Day was celebrated as a political program in New York City, but now International Women’s Day is celebrated with full enthusiasm all over the world. In his speech, he congratulated the women employees and organized a grand party.
The school secretary, Mr. Surjit Singh Cheema, while motivating the students, said that a woman can bravely face any situation at any time and at any place. Two separate events were held in the school. The aim of these events was to instill a sense of respect and appreciation towards women empowerment and gender equality among the students. Today, there is no such area of society where women do not participate and in today’s society, women are standing shoulder to shoulder with men and contributing equally to the progress of the country.
