Speculations rife as Dera Beas chief meets Giani Harpreet Singh

Ludhiana | Written by Raakhi Jagga-Dera Beas chief Gurinder Singh Dhillon met Giani Harpreet Singh, the suspended Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, on Thursday afternoon at his Bathinda residence. Sources revealed that the Dera chief arrived on his private jet, which landed in Thermal Colony, Bathinda, and then proceeded to Giani Harpreet Singh’s residence on Barnala Road in Bathinda district.

The meeting was held behind closed doors, and no details were disclosed. However, this meeting is seen as significant, coming at a time when the SGPC, in its executive meeting on December 19, suspended Giani Harpreet Singh and formed a sub-committee to investigate allegations made against the Jathedar by one Gurpreet Singh. The services at Takht Damdama Sahib are currently being performed by the head granthi of the shrine.

It is noteworthy that on December 18, Giani Harpreet Singh had accused some SAD leaders of attempting his character assassination to divert attention from Akal Takht’s decisions on the SAD’s reorganization.

Giani Harpreet Singh had vacated his official residence at Takht Damdama Sahib in the second week of December and moved to his private residence in Bathinda. He faced significant trolling on social media following Akal Takht’s December 2 decision regarding Sukhbir Singh Badal and other SAD leaders.
