Supreme Sikh Council UK  Celebrate Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s 350th Martyrdom Day in British Parliament

London-Supreme Sikh Council UK  celebrated dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s 350th Martyrdom Day in the British Parliament with the efforts of MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi. In which MPs of different parties, representatives of Gurdwara Management Committees and Sikh organisations from all over the UK, social workers and Sikh leaders participated in large numbers. Supreme Sikh Council UK commemorated the 350th Martyrdom Day of the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib with a sense of tribute and in a historical manner, saying that this is such a sacrifice that is an eternal lamp of religious freedom and moral courage.

Bhai Sewa Singh Lalli started the event with Gurbani Jaap. After that, MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi welcomed the gathering. Various speakers discussed the life story, steadfastness and legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. Bhai Surinder Singh Jandu General Secretary Supreme Sikh Council, Bhai Chandra Shekhar Singh Guru Convener Board of Jathedars, Dr. Daljit Singh Virk, Bhai Baldev Singh Bains, Bhai Dilbagh Singh Bola demanded official recognition to observe 24th November as National Day of Religious Freedom in honour of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The Supreme Sikh Council UK also released a book based on the life, teachings and martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. MP Ruth Cadbury, MP Gurinder Singh Joson, MP Jasvir Singh Athwal, MP Taiwo Owatemi, MP Abena Oppong-Asare, MP Bayo Alaba, MP Andy Slaughter, MP Kate Osamar, MP Florence Eshlomi, MP Tulip Siddique etc. were present. Supreme Sikh Council UK expressed special gratitude to MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi.
