New Delhi-India has conveyed its concerns to the US and New Zealand over the activities of pro-Khalistani elements in their countries and sought action against these separatist groups.Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised concerns with his New Zealand counterpart Christopher Luxon over the activities of pro-Khalistani elements in New Zealand. Modi sought cooperation from New Zealand to tackle these elements.Modi, referring to the 2019 Christchurch terror attack in New Zealand and the 26/11 Mumbai strike, said that terrorism in any form is “unacceptable”.
“Strict action is necessary against those guilty of terrorist attacks. We will continue to cooperate together against terrorist, separatist and radical elements,” he said.“In this context, we shared our concern about anti-India activities by some illegal elements in New Zealand. We are confident that we will continue to get the cooperation of the New Zealand government against all these illegal elements,” he said.Similarly, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi and conveyed India’s concerns over the activities of Khalistani separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) on American soil. Singh urged the US to declare SFJ as a designated terrorist entity.
In an over 30-minute meeting at his office in Raisina Hills, Singh also apprised Gabbard about SFJ’s alleged links with Pakistani spy agency ISI as well as its “collaboration” with Babbar Khalsa militant group, and pressed for action against it, they said.
