Chandigarh – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), once a vocal advocate for democratic principles, has been caught red handed forsaking its own ideals after forcing three critical bills through the Punjab Vidhan Sabha yesterday in a shocking 10 minute blitz. The legislation was shoved through amid a storm of disorder, with scant notice or chance for debate, leading Sukhpal Singh Khaira to slam the party for its brazen hypocrisy.
While in opposition, AAP relentlessly condemned the government for railroading laws without proper consultation or discussion, pledging a new era of openness and accountability if given power. However, yesterday’s Vidhan Sabha spectacle tells a different story, as AAP shamelessly echoed the same high handed tactics it once decried.
Sukhpal Khaira, MLA and Chairman of All India Kissan Congress, stated, “AAP has turned the Vidhan Sabha into a circus, ramming three vital bills through in just 10 minutes amid utter mayhem. They’ve trampled over the need for proper notice to MLAs and any semblance of real discussion. This is a shameless betrayal of the ‘change’ they sold to Punjab’s people, exposing their two faced nature.”
The frenzied session has ignited serious doubts about AAP’s commitment to just governance, with critics warning that such reckless haste muzzles elected voices and shatters public confidence.
Khaira added,
“Brandishing their majority to strong-arm laws through without scrutiny isn’t democracy it’s an outright insult to Punjab’s citizens. AAP must answer for stomping on the very principles they swore to uphold.”
