Punjab Belongs to Punjabis – No Outsiders Should Rule Our State-NAPA

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has expressed deep concern over the ongoing interference of outsiders in Punjab’s governance. NAPA strongly criticised recent statements by Delhi-based Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia regarding sand mining policies for flood-affected farmers. Such announcements, NAPA stated, are the sole responsibility of Punjab’s elected Chief Minister and cabinet ministers—not outsiders who hold no constitutional authority in the state.

Speaking on behalf of NAPA, Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal said that Punjab is not a satellite of Delhi and its governance cannot be dictated by leaders who neither belong to Punjab nor understand its struggles and sacrifices. He emphasised that Punjab’s self-respect and democratic mandate are being undermined by such interference.

NAPA has appealed to every citizen of Punjab not to allow outsiders to hijack the governance of their state. “We Punjabis are still alive, strong, and fully capable of managing our own affairs,” said Satnam Singh Chahal. “Punjab belongs to Punjabis, and our leaders must come from within our people to serve us with dedication and accountability.”

NAPA called upon the people of Punjab to remain united and resist this blatant attempt to impose outsiders as decision-makers over the state. Punjab’s governance, pride, and future must remain firmly in the hands of Punjabis alone.
