(Reuters)France and Britain are proposing a partial one-month truce between Russia and Ukraine that would cover air, sea and energy infrastructure attacks but not include ground fighting, French President Emmanuel Macron and his foreign minister said.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he believed he could salvage his relationship with US President Donald Trump after their explosive meeting in the Oval Office, but that talks needed to continue behind closed doors. Meanwhile, Trump’s allies are putting pressure on Zelenskiy to change course or resign.
