NAPA Applauds India-Pakistan Ceasefire as a Historic Step Toward Peace

Milpitas(California)— The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) welcomes and wholeheartedly applauds the reaffirmation of the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC). This significant development is a step in the right direction toward lasting peace and stability in the South Asian region.

Executive Director of NAPA, Satnam Singh Chahal, praised the leadership of both nations for demonstrating the political will to reduce hostilities and focus on dialogue. “This ceasefire has brought a much-needed sense of relief to the millions of families, especially in the border areas of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, who have lived under constant fear of violence for decades,” said Chahal. “As members of the Punjabi diaspora, we deeply understand the human cost of conflict and the urgent need for peace between these two nuclear neighbors.”

Chahal emphasized that this positive development reflects the growing global call for diplomacy over confrontation. He added that peace between India and Pakistan will not only ensure safety for border communities but also create opportunities for greater cooperation in trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people engagement, especially across Punjab, a region divided by history but united by language, culture, and shared heritage.

NAPA, representing the voice of Punjabi communities across North America, urges both governments to take further steps to build mutual trust, combat terrorism jointly, and resume comprehensive dialogue. “Peace is the only path forward,” Chahal asserted. “This ceasefire is a beginning—not an end—and we call upon civil societies on both sides to continue supporting peaceful initiatives and bridge-building efforts.”

NAPA reaffirms its commitment to promoting harmony, human rights, and justice for all South Asians and stands ready to support efforts that encourage peace and reconciliation between India and Pakistan.
