BSF, Punjab Cops Seize Drone Carrying Heroin Worth Rs 21 Crore in Tarn Taran

Taran Taran: In a major joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and Punjab Police have once again thwarted an attempt by Pakistani smugglers to sneak contraband into Indian territory. On Monday morning, vigilant jawans successfully seized a drone in the Khemkaran sector of Tarn Taran. To their astonishment, the drone was carrying a staggering 3.5 kilograms of heroin, with an estimated street value of Rs 21 crore. The consignment has been sent for forensic examination to aid in the ongoing investigation.

This significant accomplishment is part of a continued effort to counter narco-terrorism along the border. Acting on intelligence about drone movement in the area, the BSF personnel and Punjab Police promptly cordoned off the region and conducted a thorough search operation. Their vigilance paid off when they discovered a hexacopter drone, along with a yellow packet concealed within. Upon examination, the packet revealed the consignment of heroin.

Notably, this is the fifth drone seized by BSF jawans in the month of July alone, underscoring the gravity of the ongoing narcotics infiltration attempts. During the same period, jawans have also succeeded in intercepting a consignment of 9.5 kilograms of heroin.
