Sirsa urges Maharashtra CM to appoint a Sikh IAS officer as Administrator of Takht Nanded Sahib Board

New Delhi: BJP Sikh leader and former President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Manjinder Singh Sirsa has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to appoint any Sikh IAS officer from Maharashtra as Administrator of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded Board Chief after Dr. PS Pasricha had completed his term.

In a letter written to Chief Minister, Sirsa expressed disappointment on appointment of a non Sikh person Collector Nanded as Administrator Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded.

He said that he felt very disappointed to know that Government of Maharashtra has appointed the Collector of Nanded as the Administrator of Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded.

He said that all the Sikh community worldwide has expressed their resentment at this disheartening act of the Government of Maharashtra as it is totally unacceptable and against the traditions of Sikh Community. He said that a non-Sikh can never know about religious practices of Sikhs and Gurdmaryada in Gurdwara Sahiban.

He said that the performance of the former Administrator Dr. P.S. Pasricha, Former DG Police of Maharashtra was appreciable and he also led the celebration of 300th Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 2008 in a very commendable manner for which community was thankful to him.

Considering the sentiments of the Sikh Community, he urged Chief Minister that any Sikh IAS officer from Maharashtra should be appointed as Administrator of Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib.
