Tragic Demise of Punjabi Youth Sachin Bhatia in Canada

Hoshiarpur: Another distressing chapter unfolded for the Punjabi community in Canada as Sachin Bhatia, a 26-year-old resident of Talwara village in Dasuha, Hoshiarpur district, lost his life. Living in Canada for the past four years, Sachin’s health took a turn for the worse after he developed a fever. The heartbreaking news reached his family through a phone call from Canada, informing them of his demise.

Father Bishan Das shared that Sachin was a cherished son and the lone brother to two sisters. His journey to Canada began in 2019, pursuing studies in the foreign land. Subsequently, one of his sisters also made the move, and the siblings resided together.

As he settled into abroad, Sachin found work after completing his studies. His father recounted the last conversation they had, around 9:00 pm in the evening. Sachin had been returning home from work, mentioning about a mild fever along the way. Bishan Das advised him to take medication before reaching home. Upon arriving home, Sachin spoke with his sister, urging her to look after him. Tragically, about two hours later, a devastating call came – Sachin had been rushed to the hospital.

Heartbreakingly, the doctors declared Sachin dead. The family shared that his body would undergo a post-mortem examination, a process that would take two days. In the midst of their grief, the family is now reaching out to the government, appealing for assistance to bring Sachin’s body back to India.

The untimely demise of Sachin Bhatia highlights the profound challenges faced by individuals living abroad and their families. It underscores the need for support mechanisms and assistance during such difficult times.
