Punjab Vigilance nabs PSPCL Lineman for demanding Rs.5000 bribe

Chandigarh: Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Sunday nabbed PSPCL’s Lineman, Dilbagh Singh, posted at sub division Amarkot in Tarn Taran district for demanding a bribe of Rs 5000.

An official spokesperson of the VB said that Karamjit Singh resident of village Valtoha of tehsil Patti (Tarn Taran) lodged a complaint on Anti Corruption Portal on 14-07-2023 that Gurnam Singh resident of the same village had approached the accused Lineman to exchange the single phase transformer and the Lineman Dilbagh Singh demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from him for the same.

The complainant also produced an audio recording of the accused official.

After investigation of the complaint, a team of VB today arrested the Lineman Dilbagh Singh after registering an FIR no 27 dated 13-08-2023 against him at Police Station VB, Amritsar Range, he added.
