Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Detained by Gujarat Police in Connection with Massive Drug Import

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar:  Infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been apprehended by the Gujarat Police. In a significant development, Bishnoi’s connection to Pakistan has been unveiled, prompting the Gujarat Police to take him into custody from Bathinda Jail. Following his detention, Bishnoi was swiftly transported to Gujarat under high security measures. Sources indicate that Lawrence Bishnoi was brought to Mohali Airport at approximately 3:30 PM yesterday, with a robust contingent of senior officials and security personnel overseeing the proceedings.

Lawrence Bishnoi now faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Gujarat Police alleges that Bishnoi orchestrated the importation of drugs worth Rs 194 crore from Pakistan via maritime channels. The collaborative efforts of the Coast Guard and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) led to the interception of the drug consignment.

In the year 2022, the Gujarat ATS and the Coast Guard executed a joint operation that resulted in the seizure of the vessel named “Al-Tayasa,” which had originated from Pakistan. During the operation, six Pakistani nationals aboard the boat were apprehended. Notably, the intercepted vessel was found to be carrying around 34 kilograms of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 194 crore in the international narcotics market.

Notably, One of the arrested Pakistani individuals, during the course of interrogation, divulged crucial information linking the drug haul to Lawrence Bishnoi. The detainee revealed that the consignment of drugs had been orchestrated on Bishnoi’s directives, cementing the alleged involvement of the gangster in the illicit drug trade.
